Pai skincare sample pack

So I got these samples a couple of weeks ago and was really was very excited to try them out.

Okay let's get to the good bit. As soon as I got this I tried the Kukui and Jojoba bead Skin Brightening Exfoliator. This felt so good on my skin, very light and delicate and the results were indeed brightening, but by no means lasting. Pretty soon the effects were gone. It did however leave my skin feeling very plumped up and bouncy (that's a good thing). Since I have had this I have used the Avacado and Jojoba Hydrating day cream, Camomile and Rosehip sensitive skin cream and Macadamia and Rose dry skin cream. I loved all of these as they are true to their titles but I especially loved the dry skin cream. After a heavy exfoliation session and lack of water I had some very dry patches on my cheeks and chin. I kept this stuff in my handbag and applied throughout the day on the problem areas when I felt some tightening. By the evening, relaxing on my sofa with my Boo my skin was soft with zero dryness. It's was again bouncy and just felt like great skin, no strings attached. Since then I have not had dryness and apply this in the evening. A little goes a long way. Pai prides itself on its natural ingredients and I must say all these products did seem very natural, no heavy fragrances or whipped cream textures. I think this stuff is for all those people who want to repair and remedy their skin issues from the inside rather than just masking.

Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation Review

Hi, first of all sorry for the absence and crazy amount of time I haven't blogged for! 

Now apologies done with and hopefully accepted. Here it is! My HG foundation Estée Lauder Doublewear in the shade Fresco. 
I love this stuff! It's an old fashioned, reliable and real foundation that does what it is supposed to. The claims are that it is 15 hour wear makeup, stays true and natural through humidity, heat and activity. 
Ok firstly it's not natural. I do not use this stuff everyday because it really does look like makeup, hence the old fashioned. Having said this though it is not cakey and fake looking. 
I applied for the first time to work at 7am in the morning, after a gruelling day at the office and not leaving until 6.30pm I was pleased to see it was still in my face, had not creased and did not look shiny, no touch ups required all day. I did notice however that towards the end of the day it started to look more makeup like, if that makes sense. It's a full coverage, flawless foundation with a matte to satin finish. Drys very quickly so best applied with a stippling brush to blend and buff out. 
It's not an everyday foundation not for me anyway, unless you like a one tone, porcelain face. I prefer my face to look warmer with different tones. 
It's quite heavy but I love it because it does what a foundation is supposed to do, make you look flawless. I have combination skin and felt like it just smoothed everything out. 
Retailing at £28.50 for 30ml it's not the cheapest but for what it does its worth the money. 
Great for a night out or and occasion where you need staying power and to
look good when pictured.

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation Review

Okay so here is the long awaited Nars Sheer Glow Foundation review. I had really high hopes for this  foundation, expecting it to become a staple in my makeup routine. I was preparing myself or a Holygrail foundation. That is not what I got. Do not get me wrong, I really like this but I don't love this and I will not be repurchasing it. 

I purchased this from the Nars counter at Selfridges in Birmingham, you can also get this at narscosmetics.co.uk or SpaceNK. The foundation costs £30.50 for 1oz or 30g. It does not come with a pump but this can be purchased separately from the Nars counter. 

I found the foundation was a beautiful lightweight satin finish which was very blendable and super buildable. I have quite sensitive skin so I was pleased and surprised when it did not break me out. Although it is recommended by the Nars assistants to apply this with the hands I think this works better with the Real Techniques Stippling Brush (see review). 

Once the foundation is on it looks great, I did not look like I had on any makeup at all. However this did not last. The foundation needs setting again only a couple hours after application. Colour matching  is also difficult, I found that the shades were either too yellow or too grey. I purchased Sheer Glow in the shade Stromboli, which had very strong yellow undertones. This was not a great match, I then returned this and was matched by an assistant to Sante Fe which was far to pale and left me looking grey. The foundation does not provide the glow suggested in the title. I was not left with a dewy glow instead after a couple hours of application the foundation slipped right of my face and I looked oily. 

I would not recommend this if you have oily skin or need makeup that provides all day coverage. If you want to look equally as good at the end of the day as you did on your way to your desk with a Starbucks skinny latte in your hand, I personally do not think this is for you.

Real Techniques Stippling Brush

Love love love this brush! This Real Techniques Stippling Brush by Samantha Chapman is a must have beauty essential for all. I purchased this at Boots for £11.99 and have not looked back since. 

Whether you are a expert makeup artist or a "just plop it on my face and hope for the best" kind  of girl, this is an asset to you. 

This will give you a flawess finish and you will save plenty of product using this. It's great for applying foundation to the entire face and for concealer around the eyes. 

I wash my brush every fortnight using baby shampoo an conditioner. Don't be lazy when it comes to this dolls because the last thing you want is bacteria and gunk growing on your brush then transferring onto your face. You may also want to consider storing your brushes separately and away from other items and products to avoid getting them messy. 

the brush comes in a bright pop of pink and is a comfortable size to use. I apply a dab of tinted moisturiser or foundation to my forehead, nose and chin then start buffing with the brush. It doesn't leave any steaks or lines and makes my makeup look like a second skin. 

I am loving this right now, the ultimate foundation/tinted moisturiser brush.

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub

So this review is going to be short and sweet a little like this product. I purchased this at £5.25 for this 25g tub. It's pink, it tastes good and it does the job. The scrub is made out of castor sugar and organic Jojoba oil. The assistant at the Lush store handed this to me and told me to copy her, she scooped it out popped it on her lips and rubbed vigorously but then she licked it off and swallowed it (gross right?). Apparently it's edible, but do you really want to eat your dead skin?? 

I like this stuff, it really does the job and leaves my lips really kissable (says my hubby, it must work!). I will say however add that the affects are not lasting, particularly if your a lipstick wearer. But if you add this quick one minute job to your everyday makeup or facial routine you will be promised supple lips all day, everyday. It can get a little messy so use this before applying any makeup. 

Another great idea for those who don't want to buy this, make your own. Mix sugar (any kind) and Olive or Jojoba oil together to get a paste like scrub and hey presto

Lush Ocean Salt Facial Scrub Review

Hi all, so here I am continuing my Lush haul review. Sorry for the delay. Have been on vacay and I also really wanted to test this stuff before I offered my humble opinion. So here it goes. THIS STUFF STINGS!! It's made up of "Lashings of sea salt to scrub and clean, organic limes to brighten and avocado butter to soften your skin". I do feel as though this scrub does all of this as well as leave a salty taste in your mouth. The sting I must say feels good if your like me and want to actually feel the affects of the product. At £6.95 per 100g I think it's reasonably priced. 

I use this two-three times a week and it never fails to freshen me up, especially in an emergency. Since using this, "no makeup" days have become more frequent. I do however have some reservations. Despite all the positives it just did not wow me. I did not get the affect I was hoping. I would use this on Monday but on Tuesday my skin would loose that glow I would get from using it, the affects do not last long at all. This scrub is too strong to use everyday so it seems that this only works for the day it is being used. 

Overall it's a good product but it is defiantly not my HG facial scrub. May use the rest on my legs as an exfoliation treatment. Will let you know how I got on with that.
